Formed in Boston in the late 80s, the Gigolo Aunts have released three albums. In 1988 they released Everybody Happy, which did not sell well. Then several EPs were released and in 1994, Flippin' Out, was released with strong reviews. In 1999 they released Minor Chords and Major Themes. One song on that album "The Big Lie," is an upbeat rock song with a bittersweet edge featuring guest vocals by Adam Duritz and longtime friend Adam Schlesinger from Fountains of Wayne. The Gigolo Aunts opened for The Wallflowers/Counting Crows tour in the summer/fall of 1997.
